1. What is CellSniperTM?
CellSniperTM is a Symbian mobile security application that allows you to trace your lost phone, and remotely lock it and/or delete your data in the lost phone via a SMS command. It protects both your privacy as well as prevents possible abuse of your personal information.
2. Why do I need CellSniperTM?
Losing a hand-phone can be a traumatic experience for many, especially when one's mobile phone contains messages, videos or pictures that should not fall in to the wrong hands. If this is YOU, then CellSniperTM will help you to lighten the trauma by allowing you to remotely delete such data with a single SMS command. CellSniperTM also tracks and alerts you about the new active number on your lost handset.
3. How does CellSniperTM work?
CellSniperTM only needs one-time installation and configuration. In case your handset falls onto the wrong hands, the 'new owner' will insert his/her SIM card and assume ownership of your phone. Now, when the phone is switched on/activated, CellSniperTM locks the phone and sends out an alert SMS to the two numbers you have entered in the settings. Your friends who receive the SMS will know the "new owner's" number. You can use this number to either attempt to recover the handset or at least delete all personal information like private pictures, video or even contact numbers to avoid abuse of data. Remote Lock and Wipe can be done via SMS commands.

5. Is CellSniperTM applicable to all mobile phones?
CellSniperTM is a Symbian mobile application. You can check your phone compatibility HERE.
6. When I transfer the application from the desktop to my handset, where will the application be stored in the handset?
It will be in your native SMS inbox or Beamed (Bluetooth/IR) messages inbox of the phone.
7. Half way through the installation, my phone hanged. What could be the problem?
The cause could be insufficient memory in your phone. Try uninstalling some applications that are not in use and try again. Or the failure could be on account of phone compatibility. You can check your phone compatibility HERE.
8. When setting my two friends' numbers, can one be an international mobile number?
Yes it can be an international number. Be sure to enter the number in the international format.
9. Can I change the numbers later? And how do I do that?
Yes, you may change/reset the number at any point of time by clicking on the Option in the Menu.
10. Must my "Friends" have CellSniperTM installed in their phones as well?
No, it is not necessary for your "Friends" to have CellSniperTM on their phones. They would receive the CellSniperTM alert as any normal SMS.
11. I lost my phone, but none of my friends received any alerts. Why is that?
There could be many reasons for not receiving the alerts. You may have disabled "Alerts" in the Options Menu. Or no new SIM card has been inserted in to the handset. Or the new SIM card may not be activated or may have insufficient credit, or you have incorrectly set your friends' numbers.
12. After I send the predefined (Wipe) SMS to delete my data, how do I confirm that the data has been deleted?
No. You will receive a confirmation SMS from the targeted number that says "Wipe Successful".
13. Is there any possibility that CellSniperTM is able to back up my data?
No. CellSniperTM is intended to protect against abuse of data and to protect your information and privacy. CellSniperTM is designed to ensure that if you can't use your information, nobody else should.
14. What if I change to a new phone (handset)?
You may install the CellSniperTM again in your new phone as long as the phone number remains the same. You may use the downloaded CellSniperTM SIS file to reinstall, or you can download the CellSniperTM application again by following the download link in the welcome email that we sent to you previously.
15. Does CellSniperTM expire?
No. CellSniperTM applications downloaded from the NSS webstore do not expire.
16. I've forgotten my CellSniperTM password, how do I reset my CellSniperTM password?
If you have forgotten your CellSniperTM password, and if your CellSniperTM Lock is enabled, you may not be able to access your phone contents after restart. We do assist in resetting your password, however we need to authenticate your identity before we reset the password. You are required to submit the phone number (MSISDN) for which the password reset is required, we will send you an email to your registered mail ID in which we provide you a verification code, which must be entered in the requisite box before you click "Submit". On successful verification, we will reset your password to "abc". You may use this reset password to access your phone and also CellSniperTM, after which you must change your password. Password resetting is charged at USD 1 for each instance.
We must follow these precautions to ascertain your identity before resetting your password as CellSniperTM is a phone security application that must be accessible only to an authorized user.

17. How to activate my CellSniperTM?
+ Install CellSniperTM on your mobile.
+ To activate CellSniperTM, when you get the prompt 'Enter service short code number' during installation,
enter +60192715303 and click OK.
+ You will receive activation message shortly and CellSniperTM will automatically restart, allowing you to
configure the other settings for the application.
